Introducing Name.....Ralyn Blakely Newman

Ralyn Blakely Newman is the twenty three year old daughter of Cynthia and Lindell Newman of Waukomis. She is a lifelong resident of northwest Oklahoma. She is the granddaughter of the late Wanda and Edsel Cole of Pond Creek and the late Oarn and Rachel Newman of Enid. Ralyn graduated from Covington Douglas high school in May of 2006. She was active in all her high school sports and served as FFA Chaplain and also on the Student Council. Ralyn is very active in shooting sports. She has competed since she was nine years old. Events include trap, skeet, and archery. She received numerous local, districts, and state awards including an award for Shotgun Marksmanship and speed at the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Cadet Lawmen Academy at the age of seventeen and finished second in the academy behind her twin sister.

 

Ralyn is a member of the NWOSU rodeo team and competes in Barrels and Goat Tying. Ralyn's newest endeavor is learning how to team rope. Miss Newman will graduate this December from northwestern Oklahoma state university - Alva with her bachelor of science in criminal justice and a minor in History. She has obtained many skills through internships she has served with the Wildlife Department of Oklahoma and Texas Department of Wildlife. After graduation Ralyn's intention is to have a career as a Federal Game Warden enforcing forensic poaching prevention.
